How to play Bar chords easily and painlessly
1. Thumb is pressing on the middle of the width of the neck
2. Press at the in-side of the Index finger
3. Index finger press as close to the fret metal bar as possible as well as other finger
4. Press with the tips of your middle, ring and pinky of the fingers, not the flesh of the fingers
5. Thumb is in line with the middle finger
6. Left hand press and pull inward (not pressing hard on the string)
7. Right arm push guitar body towards your body
Accuracy of chord changing
1. Finger memory, keep practice
2. For a start, focus on shape, ignore the muting and buzzing sound
3. Practice with E Shape and Am Shape
4. Slide up and down the neck with bar chords on E shape and Am shape
5. Press and release on the bar chord shape you are playing
6. Change between open chord and bar chord (eg. D and G)
Advantage of playing bar chord
1. You can forget about all open chord
2. You can transpose keys quite easily
Disadvantage
1. Your finger can be quite painful over hours of playing
2. Your hands can be quite tiring and may have clamp
