Does it mean that we Depart from our salvation and loses our salvation or does it mean we back slide in our faith at some point in our lives? Is back sliding in our faith means one actually loses his salvation?

The Knowledge (can be bible interpretation that one claims to know or claim to be rightly interpreted the bible)
Avoid, don't pay attention to all these self claimed correctly interpretation of the bible that oppose the Christian faith or opposing the Good New (Gospel of Jesus Christ). Wrong believing

If you see words like disown, deny, reject, cut off, you have to read with care, not read with fear.
Matt 10:33
But whoever (everyone) disowns (denies, rejects) Me before others (in public), I will also disown (deny, reject) him before my Father in heaven.
Did Peter disown denies Christ in public? Yes. 3 times.
Did Jesus disown Peter? Did Peter's denial of Jesus separated Jesus' love for him?
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. In this case, even the sin of denying Jesus 3 times in public.
Matt 10:33 is talking about the Jews disowning God when they disown God's Son (Who is also God)
Because God claimed ownership of the Jews to be His people. Matt 10:33 should only be interpreted in the context of Matt 10:5-6
Matt 10:5-6
5. Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans,
6. but only to the people of Israel—God’s lost sheep.
5. These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go onto the road (way) of the Gentiles or enter any town (city) of the Samaritans.
When Jesus gave instructions to the 12, He was telling the 12 about the possibility of the Jews disowning (denying, rejecting) Him (God, who owned Israel). Jesus was not reminding or giving warning to His 12 disciples that if they deny (disown, reject) Jesus, Jesus will disown them.
Peter (one of the 12) disowned Jesus in Public 3 times, yet Jesus still look at him in love and didn't disown Peter. Jesus even restored Peter.
