Following is how you can improve the popularity of your website as Google track the number of pageviews, the amount of time people stay in your website, how many links to your website, how many links you link to other website.

By have long titles so as to improve the chance of matching people keyword search.

Linking your website to popular website will improve your google ranking

- Link your website to YouTube by having the video of the YouTube in your website. But, by putting your own created video in your own website will give you the originality, when people like your videos, they have to link to your website rather the YouTube website.
- Link your websites to your Facebook and your friends' Facebook
- Link your websites to your Tweeter and your friends' Tweeter
- Link your websites to your LinkIn and your friends' LinkIn
- Link your websites to your Google+ and your friends' Google+
- Link your websites to your Instagram and your friends' Instagram
- Interchange blogger link with other bloggers

Send the link via email to your friends so that they can click in.

Send the link via sms to your friends so that they can click in.

Read Newspaper page and other Forum pages, leave a comment and copy and paste the link to the comment

Create a FOLLOW button for people to click and follow

Create a FORUM or DISCUSSION for people to share their opinion and share their comment

Use social networks to expand your reach. Social networking is hugely important, and ensuring that you have a solid presence will have a large impact on your views. Post compelling content and you’ll soon build a loyal following. Follow and share with other users, who may reciprocate and follow you. There are a variety of ways that you can use social networks to extend your online presence, depending on the needs of your site

Create a Facebook page. Facebook allows you to create a page for your site or company. This allows you to quickly share new articles with your Facebook followers, as well as share other related articles. A Facebook Page is also a good way to advertise your site to a large number of people

Post new articles on Twitter. Create a Twitter account for your site or for yourself, and post the headline and link to each new article you publish. Many blogging software packages allow you to do this automatically. Make sure you have a link to your Twitter feed on your site.

Use Tumblr to gain followers. Tumblr is a blogging service that allows you to easily link to content around the web. Use Tumblr to post links to your articles as well as related content.

Set up a Google+ Page. Google+ is Google's social network service, and like the others, allows you to easily post links to your published articles. Google+ has a very large potential audience, since all Google users have access to it, though a far smaller percentage actually use it.

Pin your articles on Pinterest. Pinterest is an image-focused social sharing site. it started as a crafting and recipe service, but has since grown to cover a broad range of categories. Make sure that your blog posts have good, clear images if you're going to pin them on Pinterest.

Take photos with Instagram. Create an Instagram account for your company or site and take some pictures related to your niche. Be sure to use hashtags to advertise your blog on the photos, and have a link to your site in your profile.

Submit your articles to Reddit and Digg. Reddit and Digg both have large communities of active users. Posting your article can result in a lot of good traffic and sharing, as long as you are posting in the correct place and following submission rules

Create a YouTube channel link it to your site. If your suite lends itself to video, consider linking a YouTube channel to it. You can embed YouTube videos in your blog posts and send YouTube viewers to your blog for more details. You can even monetize your YouTube channel for additional revenue.

Start a forum. A forum is a place for your site’s community to gather together and discuss everything from your site to anything else. Active forums are also a great way to become more visible in searches. See this guide for details on creating your own forum.
  • As your site grows, you may need to appoint moderators to your forum. If a community grows toxic, it can have a negative effect on the traffic to your site. A good moderation policy is always important for online communities.
Guest post on other blogs, and invite other bloggers to guest post on your site. Guest posts are a great way to drive traffic between related blogs, and allow you to gain readers that might not normally make it to your site. Be sure to allow any guest posters to link back to their own site, and share any guest posts the same as you would your own posts.

Follow and interact with other sites and blogs. Stay connected with other blogs that relate to yours. Leave comments on their posts and interact with the communities. Don’t hawk your site, but allow people to find their way to it.

Interact with readers through comments. Comments are a great way to stay in touch with your readers. Respond to good comments on your articles, and use the comment space to ask questions. Taking a few minutes each day to respond to the most well thought out comments will do wonders for your community.

Use calls to action. Ask your readers to get involved. If the readers feel like the site owner is interested in them, they will be more likely to continue coming back. Calls to action engage the reader, and helps keep them on the page. Calls to action may include asking the reader to write in with responses, sound off in the comments, or visit a site.

Give freebies. Who doesn't like a freebie?! Online freebies are commonplace and they leave the visitor wanting more when they are well written and informative introductory materials. Consider such freebies as:
  • Giving away an eBook with your ad on it. Allow your visitors to also give the freebie away. This will increase your ad exposure and increase web traffic to your website at the same time;
  • Holding free online classes or seminars. They could be held in your website's chat room. The idea of "live" information will definitely entice people to visit your website. You will become known as an expert on the topic.
  • Giving visitors a free entry into your contest or sweepstakes. The prizes should be something of interest or value to your visitors. Most people who enter will continually revisit your web site to get the results.
  • Letting visitors download free software such as freeware, shareware, demos etc. You could even turn part of your site into a free software directory. If you created the software, include your ad inside and let other people give it away.
  • Targeting specific groups who might worry about using the internet with free classes in using it on your site - senior citizens, busy workers etc. might find these convenient and alluring.
  • Offering free online services or utilities from your website. For instance, they could be search engine submitting, copyrighting, proofreading etc. The service or utility should be helpful to your target audience.
  • Giving free consulting to people who visit your website. You could offer your knowledge via e-mail or by telephone. People will consider this a huge value because consulting fees can be very expensive.
  • Offering a free start-up package that has a finite time; enough time for the customer to practice with your online product and like it enough to pay for continued use.
  • Sending out free CDs, DVDs etc. that contain starter packs or teasers to encourage the customer to use your site more.
  • Offering free screensavers or templates for business cards, cards, writing paper etc., anything that a customer can print out.
Link to old posts on your own site. Make sure that you are linking to related articles that you've already written. This will help new users find interesting articles from your backlog, and will keep people on your site.
  • Add links on old posts to new ones. If you write an article that relates to an old article that you did, make sure to go back to the old article and link to the new one.
Build good links. Link building is incredibly important for websites. This is the process of creating links that point to your page from other pages. This will happen naturally as you create quality content, but there are some things you can do to help build links yourself:
  • Trading links with other websites that are closely related to the subject of your website can bring you more website traffic. These are two-way links because you must provide a link to them, too, and linking to low-quality websites can threaten the credibility of yours. Only link to sites that are dead on topic, and truly help your visitors.
  • Link back on related blogs and forums. Find communities that relate to your niche and create a user profile there. Enter in your site information in your profile and make quality posts. This will draw people to your site through your profile links.
  • Contact companies that relate to your niche. Getting a company to link to your site for a how-to article, or a blog post related to their product, can significantly increase your traffic. Try to build some links with companies in your niche.
  • Set up an RSS feed. An RSS feed allows your articles to be easily linked in a variety of other places. Submitting your RSS feed to directories can really give your links a boost.
  • See this guide for more details on building back links.
Tag and describe your articles appropriately. The tags, description, and metadata of your article will affect how well it shows up in searches. It also helps people find the articles they need.
  • To have a fully functioning and successful website, you need to make sure your tags are in place and your links are not broken. You also need to submit a sitemap file to Google to have your website show up in Google's search engines.
  • Use keywords effectively. This is called search engine optimization and will help people find your website when they're searching the Web. Make sure the keywords flow naturally with the text and when you are brainstorming for good words, ask around for words that come naturally to people of all ages when looking for your type of site.
  • Keywords not only go into headings and page names but also into "meta tags". "Meta tags" are the software code that website visitors do not see but search engines do.
  • Don't overdo the keywords; over-stuffing keywords will result in a very low search ranking for your website. Also, be very careful not to place key text inside graphics; search engines cannot pick up graphics.
Write articles frequently. Your blog will be more successful if you have a steady stream of content. Aim for at least six articles per week. Whatever you choose, pick a schedule and stick to it as best as possible.
  • Keep it fresh. For repeat visits, it is crucial to provide regular updates to the website, especially in frequently viewed zones. Add fresh content every few days if possible; at a minimum, weekly.
  • Consider outsourcing article writing. If you hate the thought of generating content yourself, or your team is not writing-savvy, consider outsourcing this end of the task. Depending on the length, content, specialization and quality required, prices can start as low as US$5 per article. However, don't neglect attempting to write your own work - who better than you knows your own business, hobby or club and can express precisely what needs to be said?
Create shareable content. In the world of social media, sharable content is king. Your content should be easily sharable so that your readers can spread the word for you. This is a combination of a good headline and an interesting image, as well as a captivating lead-in. All of this creates a perfect bite-sized chunk of your article that others can share through Facebook, Twitter, and other networks.[2]
  • Lists are incredibly popular for sharing on social networks right now. Sites such as Buzzfeed and Mashable make great use of list headlines, such as "10 Ways to..." or "21 Signs That You're...". These quickly draw the reader's eye, and are a great way to deal with shortened attention spans.

39 Actionable Ideas For Driving Traffic To Your Website

Lack of website traffic is one of the most common challenges I hear from business owners. Many report having lost a significant percentage of their search traffic over the past year or two, and are continuously looking for new ways to drive relevant traffic to their site.

This article is an attempt to give marketers and business owners a whole battery of straight-to-the-point, actionable tips for getting traffic to your website or blog. While some of these strategies won’t be a quick fix, you may be surprised how quickly many of them start to generate results.

  1. Focus on long-tail keywords – The days of focusing on a single keyword for each page are long gone. Make sure your posts include all the relevant terms and phrases related to your topic. For help with finding long-tail keywords, see my post How to Find LSI (Long Tail) Keywords Once You’ve Identified Your Primary Keywords.
  2. Start a forum on your website – An active forum can quickly begin ranking for long-tail keywords. They’re also great for decreasing your site’s bounce rate, increasing time-on-site, as well as building a community.
  3. Start a Facebook group that drives traffic to your site – Start a niche-specific group where members can ask questions and get support (and don’t forget to point them back to your site’s content where relevant).
  4. Submit your blog posts to StumbleUpon – It works!
  5. Promote your blog posts to your email list – This doesn’t have to be the main focus of all your emails, but including a link or two back to your blog posts can considerably increase traffic, leads, and sales.
  6. Answer a HARO query – Answering a pitch only take a few minutes, and can result in great PR, high-quality inbound links and referral traffic to your site.
  7. Work on your headlines – Your headlines are what will get people in the door, particularly when you share your blog posts via social media; make sure they pique interest and clearly articulate the benefit to your readers. For help with that, see “The Online Marketer’s Guide to Writing High-Converting Headlines.”
  8. Join a blogging community like ProBlogger or CopyBlogger  – This is a great way to network with other bloggers, and to cross-promote each other’s content.
  9. Include links to other relevant posts on your blog – When you write a post, always be sure to mention other posts your readers may find helpful; this is great for SEO as well as for increasing time-on-site, conversion rates, and referral traffic.
  10. Guest post on relevant blogs – There’s not much point guest blogging on a site in an unrelated niche; make sure you only contribute to highly-relevant, high-quality sites in your niche. See “The Ultimate, Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Business by Guest Blogging.”
  11. Become a columnist or contributor on a well-known website – If you can become a guest contributor on an authority site like Huffington Post or Forbes, you not only drive targeted traffic to your site, but establish yourself as an expert in your field.
  12. Optimize your existing posts – Comb through your old posts to make sure they have unique and relevant title tags, URLS and meta descriptions.
  13. Demote irrelevant Google sitelinks – While Google sitelinks are automatically generated, you can demote URLS you don’t want to show; this may increase the chances that the URLS you do want listed show up. You can do this from within Google Webmaster Tools.
  14. Arrange an advertising swap – Trade banner ads with a complimentary site in your niche.
  15. Post more frequently – Neil Patel of QuickSprout found that by posting high-quality posts 6x per week (as opposed to 5), blog traffic increased by 18.6%. Find your magic number and commit to seeing it through. Remember that in many cases, the traffic increases you see from blogging are scalable.
  16. Submit your posts to Reddit – Yes, this also still works.
  17. Mention influencers in your tweets – When you cite, quote or mention someone in a blog post, be sure to @ mention them in your tweet when you promote your post.
  18. Focus your energy on strategies that are working – You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing. Study your analytics to see your main traffic drivers, and focus on your energy on these areas.
  19. Build connections with others in your niche – I know this sounds cliché, but building personal relationships with other bloggers in your niche will often result in organic inbound links and referral traffic to your site.
  20. Make sure you have every relevant keyword you can think of on your site – I’m not talking old-school keyword spamming here. I’m talking about focusing on topical content; and making sure you at least have the chance of being found for all your relevant keywords, no matter how obscure they may be.
  21. Create a top 10 website post – Select the top 10 blogs in your niche, and write a post about them. You may also want to create a simple badge or banner those sites can embed to show off their award.
  22. Make the most of Facebook links – Be sure to include links back to your site in your About page, in your photo descriptions, in the comments of your posts (where relevant), and in your milestones.
  23. Get on YouTube – YouTube drives the most engaged traffic out of all social media sites, with an average of 2.99 pages per visit.
  24. Add text to your blog post images – Try including your post title and URL in your blog post images for optimal effect when pinned or shared.
  25. Become a member of industry Facebook and LinkedIn groups – Offer valuable advice and info to build relationships and drive traffic to your site.
  26. Connect with bloggers who are already sending you traffic – If someone has already linked to your site, they obviously like what you have to say. Contact them to see if there are other ways they could help promote your content (and vice versa).
  27. Ask a well-known blogger to guest post on your site – They’ll likely share the post with their audience, driving traffic to your site.
  28. Respond to blog comments – Respond thoughtfully to all comments on your blog. This is great for building relationships, as well as for driving commenters back to your site.
  29. Add your blog to Alltop – As an aggregate for all kinds of web content, submitting your blog increases your chances of getting found by people looking for content in your niche.
  30. Answer Questions – Visit sites like Yahoo Answers or Quora and answer questions relevant to your niche.
  31. Write a Response Post – Respond to a controversial post in your niche and then let the original poster know about it. Chances are good they won’t be able to resist responding to it on their blog.
  32. Contact influential bloggers – When you write a groundbreaking or newsworthy post, notify influencers in your field. You may be surprised at how many link back to your post.
  33. Make proper use of categories – If you haven’t already organized your content into relevant categories, now’s the time. Categories are great not only for SEO, but for helping your readers find relevant content.
  34. Write landmark posts  - Create at least a few long-form, authoritative posts that will organically garner links and attention over the long haul.
  35. Comment on industry blogs  - Become a regular commenter on a popular blog in your niche to help drive referral traffic and to establish relationships with other bloggers.
  36. Interview influencers in your niche – They will be very likely to promote the interview to their audience.
  37. Share your blog posts regularly on Facebook  - Post a short excerpt from your posts to entice them to click through.
  38. Share your posts on Triberr  - Meet other bloggers and share each other’s content.
  39. Add your blog to Technorati – As the world’s largest blog directory, claiming your blog should be standard procedure for all bloggers.

Things to Look Out for If Engaging Consultants to File PIC Claims

The PIC application process is simple and straightforward. To guide businesses in filing PIC cash payout claims, IRAS has published on its website a list of common mistakes to avoid when claiming PIC. Most businesses file their PIC cash payout claims themselves, but there may be businesses that prefer to engage PIC Consultants to assist them in claiming PIC benefits. Find out what you need to look out for if you are engaging consultants to file PIC claims.

Signs that you could be asked to participate in an unacceptable PIC arrangement

Vendors, salespersons and consultants may approach you and offer to help you claim PIC cash payout if you buy their products/ engage their services. Please be especially mindful of those who misrepresent the intention of the PIC scheme. Here are some signs that you could be asked to participate in an unacceptable PIC arrangement.
If you make incorrect PIC cash payout claims based on wrong advice by vendors, salespersons and consultants, you will face penalties as you are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of your PIC application. Please refer to the IRAS website or contact IRAS for assistance if you are unclear about the PIC scheme or wish to verify if the advice given to you by vendors, salespersons or consultants is accurate.

Measures to curb PIC abuses Revised!

IRAS has come across business arrangements aimed at artificially creating or inflating PIC claims. While such cases make up a minority of PIC claims, the following anti-abuse measures have been introduced to target abusive arrangements and intermediaries that promote or facilitate such arrangements:
  1. Deny PIC benefits arising from abusive arrangements as follows:

Where the arrangement is abusive becauseAmount of PIC benefits disallowed
It consists or makes use of artificial, contrived or fraudulent step(s)That part of PIC benefits that arises from the use of the artificial, contrived or fraudulent step(s)
The amount paid for the goods/ services exceeds their open market value for no bona fide commercial reasonPIC benefits computed based on the difference between the amount paid by the business and the open market value
There is no bona fide commercial reason for entering into the arrangementFull amount of PIC benefits
  2. Impose penalties on promoters of PIC arrangements (including vendors and consultants) who know, or have reasonable grounds to believe that the arrangements they are promoting are abusive PIC arrangements. Convicted offenders will have to pay a fine of up to $10,000 and/ or imprisonment of up to three years.

A promoter of PIC arrangement is a person who:

    a) Designs, facilitates, organises or manages that arrangement; or
    b) Publishes, disseminates or communicates any information for the purpose of inducing or encouraging any other person to enter into the arrangement.

Abusive PIC Arrangement

A PIC arrangement is abusive if:
  • it makes use of artificial, contrived or fraudulent step(s) to obtain PIC benefits;
  • the arrangement results in the payment of goods/ services for an amount that exceeds the open market value without a bona fide commercial reason; or
  • there is no bona fide commercial reason for entering into the arrangement, apart from getting the PIC benefits.

Examples of Abusive PIC Arrangements Revised!

IRAS adopts a commonsensical approach towards interpreting the law on the above anti-abuse measures and will consider all relevant facts and circumstances. An in-depth investigation may be conducted, depending on the facts and circumstances, to ascertain whether an offence has been committed. The following are examples of scenarios that we are of the view contain abusive features:
Shell businesses and artificial transactions
An individual who is not carrying out an active business takes the following action so as to make PIC cash payout claims with IRAS:
  1. Incorporate sole-proprietorships or companies with ACRA;
  2. Make minimum/low CPF contributions for persons who are not employees, such as parents, siblings, friends or other persons. This is done so that they appear to be employees of the claimants for PIC claims when in fact no work was done or that the works which were purportedly done were not for bona fide commercial reason; and/or
  3. Sign agreements with related/friendly parties to purchase items or services such as mobile apps or websites at inflated prices.
The claims will be disallowed as the PIC arrangements are abusive. The actions are contrived, overvalued and put in place so as to make PIC cash payout claims without bona fide commercial reason. IRAS will consider whether these claims should be subject to criminal investigations.
Transactions with no bona fide commercial reason
In some abusive PIC arrangements, a group of individuals sets up multiple businesses and sell PIC-qualifying products or services among them, typically at inflated prices. There is no bona fide commercial reason for such sales aside from obtaining a PIC cash payout.
Such an arrangement may include the following:
  • Two individuals arrange to set up a company each, A and B. Both companies provide identical services (such as training).
  • A engages B to conduct training to A’s employees for $15,000; while B also engages A to conduct similar training to B’s employees for $15,000.
  • The cost for delivering both sets of training is negligible since the companies could have provided the training services to their own employees.
A and B are both seeking to benefit from PIC cash payouts and bonus of $24,000 each. The claims will be disallowed as the PIC arrangements are abusive. Aside from deriving PIC cash payouts, there is no bona fide commercial reason for the arrangements. IRAS will consider whether these claims should be subject to criminal investigations.

Expenditure disproportionate to revenue generated
An individual sets up many companies. These companies derive minimal revenues, but would each incur PIC qualifying expenditure that is disproportionate to their revenue (for example, 10 times the revenue) and claim PIC cash payouts and bonus. For example:
  • A director sets up companies X, Y, and Z to sell baby products through mail order – X sells clothes, Y sells toys and Z sells diapers.
  • All companies derived $1,000 in sales in the relevant period.
  • All companies engaged an e-commerce vendor to develop a website and inventory management system for each of the companies. Each company incurred $15,000 on the software.
  • All companies would claim PIC cash payouts and bonus of $24,000 each. The net receipt of the companies would be $9,000 each after subtracting $15,000 paid to the software vendor.
  • In participating in this arrangement, the director of X, Y, and Z would benefit $27,000 in total.
The claims will be disallowed as the PIC arrangements are abusive. Apart from the purpose of obtaining PIC cash payouts, there is no bona fide commercial reason to incur such disproportionate expenditure and to duplicate 3 sets of website and inventory management software for this scale of business activity. IRAS will also consider whether these claims should be subject to criminal investigations.

Many of the above abusive PIC arrangements are facilitated by a promoter. Typically the promoter will, for a share of the PIC cash payout, provide step-by-step guides and documentation for the purpose of providing substantiating evidence for PIC cash payout audits by IRAS.
The documentation provided would be for the purpose of providing false evidence to IRAS and may include employment contracts for part-timers, working timesheets, payment vouchers for part-timer salaries, guides to contributing CPF, product flyers or brochures (for the part-timer to hand out, e.g. as flyers), application forms for grants or loans, quotations, invoices, User Acceptance Test Checklists and Systems Acceptance Forms. If the claimant is unable to find sufficient names of their own, the promoter may also provide names and particulars of individuals for the claimants to contribute to their CPF accounts, so as to meet the three-local-employee requirement.
IRAS keeps a close watch on claims linked to promoters of abusive PIC arrangements. Once detected, IRAS will subject these claims to close scrutiny and may disallow claims linked to promoters of abusive PIC arrangements. With enhanced enforcement powers, IRAS will also subject these promoters of abusive PIC schemes to criminal investigations.
Please refer to Annex H of the e-Tax Guide "Productivity and Innovation Credit (736KB)” for more examples of abusive PIC arrangements.

How To Upload and Embed PDF and other Documents In Blogger Blog Posts

Advertisements
One of our readers requested us to figure out how they can embed PDFs in their Blogger blog. There are many ways through which we can embed PDFs or other documents like Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint Slides, and Excel Spreadsheets into our Blogger Blog. However, Google Docs is probably the most authentic and reliable way of embedding the PDF documents in a website. Therefore, today in this article, we will show you How to Embed PDFs or any other documents in Blogger Blog Posts.

First, go to https://drive.google.com and Sign in into your Gmail or Google account so that you have the admin privilege to the documents that would upload from your system hard drive.

After signing in to your Google account, the next thing is to upload a PDF file from your system hard drive. On pressing the upload icon from the left side panel a drop down menu will pop out which would consist of two options i.e. File and Folder. Just select “File” and head to the next step.
Now it will inquire you to select the PDF (document) that you want to embed on your website. Now press the open button and move to the next step.
On pressing the open button a small upload wizard would appear on the right side of your screen. It usually takes a minute or two to upload, but it entirely depends upon the size of your file and the speed of your internet connection.
Once uploading is finished, click on the file name and it will take you to a new page. Before, you can embed the document you have to change the permission of the file to the public. Thus, select the share button displaying at the top right corner of your screen and change the permission of the file from private to open.
Press change, and select “public on the web” so anyone on the Internet can find and access. No sign-in required. Finally, press the Save button to conclude the wizard. For detailed instructions, check out the following screenshot.
After changing the permission settings, now it’s time to grab the embed code. From the quick access tool bar select File >> Embed this PDF file. Now a new window will appear which would provide you the Embed code, copy the whole code and proceed to the next step.
After copying the code go to Blogger.com >> Create a new Post >> Select HTML Tab, and paste the code where you would like to see the document to appear. Now within the code that you pasted few moments a go search for /preview and replace it with /edit?usp=sharing. Now publish your article, and that’s it. See the following screenshot.
Be default the width of the document is set to 640 pixels while the height is set to 480 pixels. You can reduce the width and height according to your needs. You should now see a PDF attached to your blog posts along with some significant options like download and etc.

How to clear cache and cookies in google chrome

Clear cache and cookies

Cookies, which are files created by websites you’ve visited, and your browser’s cache, which helps pages load faster, make it easier for you to browse the web.
Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies means that website settings (like usernames and passwords) will be deleted and some sites might appear to be a little slower because all of the images have to be loaded again.

How to clear cache and cookies

  1. On your browser toolbar, select the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
  2. Select More tools.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. In the box that appears, select “Cookies and other site and plug-in data,” and "Cached images and files.”
  5. On the menu box at the top, select "beginning of time" to delete everything.
  6. Select Clear browsing data.
